UNTRA has traditionally sponsored several events during the Spring and Fall semesters of each academic year. The UNTRA Programs Committee plans a wide variety of events each year based on member interest. Our standard events include Academic Updates from various departments on campus, our annual spring & winter holiday potluck gatherings, Homecoming pregame celebration, and the President's Retiree Brunch. We are grateful to the UNT Division of Advancement, the Office of the President, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at UNT, and UNT Colleges/Departments for their help in co-sponsoring events.

UNTRA members receive email invitations to upcoming events throughout the Spring and Fall semesters of each academic year.

Our Spring 2024 Event List will be published soon!

Friends of PUSH

Friends of PUSHUNTRA supports students in UNT's PUSH Program through the Friends of PUSH initiative. PUSH (Persevere Until Success Happens) provides a structured, campus-wide network of support to assist foster care alumni in achieving educational success by focusing on the academic, financial, career, and social well-being of each student, enabling them to arrive and thrive on campus. Friends of PUSH connects retirees with PUSH staff so that they can support students more directly and sustainably through financial assistance, hot meals, and more. Whenever there is a need, staff will reach out to Friends of PUSH to see who might be available to fill it.

To get involved, we invite you to fill out our Friends of PUSH interest form below. By submitting this form, you are granting permission to share your contact information with the staff who operate the PUSH program on campus. However, your name can be removed from this list at any time by contacting UNTRA.

UNT Food Pantry Donation Drives

At the President's Annual Retiree Brunch in September as well as at the end of the fall and spring semesters, UNTRA collects food donations from its members for the UNT Food Pantry. The pantry serves UNT students experiencing food insecurity.

President's Retiree Brunch & Campus Expo

At the beginning of the fall semester, UNTRA works in partnership with the Office of the President to invite all UNT retirees to a brunch on campus. At this event, the President addresses retirees and provides an update of the exciting new developments at the university. Representatives from around campus also participate in an expo showcasing opportunities for retirees to stay engaged with life on campus.
